“From Nvidia chips to global markets, the Trump–Xi summit could decide who dominates the next AI revolution.”

US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set to meet this week in Beijing for a high-stakes summit that could shape the future of global trade and technology.

The main topics expected to dominate the meeting include trade and tariffs, the Iran war and global oil supply, Taiwan tensions, and most importantly, artificial intelligence technology.

Global AI investors are hoping for fewer restrictions on AI chips, stable trade relations, and less political interference in the AI supply chain. Investors fear that new tariffs, export bans, and aggressive policies over Taiwan could hurt the global technology market and disrupt semiconductor supply chains.

If the United States and China cooperate with each other, major disruptions in the global AI supply chain could potentially be avoided.
